It was lovely to see so many new faces at the group this morning. Even more impressive is the fact that, at the end of the session, every one of them said they would like to continue attending.
We listened to a lovely poem from Thich Nhat Hanh - a Vietnamese monk and peace activist. We could all identify with its message of staying in the here and now so that we do not wake up one day and find life has passed us by without us appreciating all of the amazing sights, sounds, smells etc., that we have experienced.
Drumming is always a favourite with the group and this seemed to extend to our five new attendees. We also all had a good go at the seated exercises that help keep our bodies supple, spent a few minutes showing our bodies some gratitude for all that they do and balanced this with some lovely self-healing using a crystal held in our hand.
As always we finished with each person having a dip into Mair's tin of inspirational sayings, which we read aloud to the rest of the group. It never ceases to amaze how apt these always seem to be at that moment for the person holding the card.
