On the whole, a bit of a Marmite book. This book could provide a good read if you like a thoughtful, more considered approach to police investigations.

This is the first of Louise Penny's series of Chief Inspector Gamache of the Sureté du Quebec. The group gave it mixed reviews, some really enjoying it and some not being able to get beyond the first couple of chapters.
It did involve introducing a lot of characters who lived in a fictional village in the eastern province of Canada near to the border of USA.
