This novel is about an Istanbul prostitute who is brutally murdered in a back alley by street thugs. However, rather than death being an instant occurrence, the author explores the idea of it as a transition of 10 minutes and 38 seconds from the world of the living to the ‘Other’, during which your life flashes before you.  The story of the life in question is told through a series of recollections about the prostitute’s five closest friends.
