There can be sessions of advice on many aspects of research or discussions on chosen subjects, whatever appeals to the members. Finding out more about our background is truly enjoyable and could even become obsessive!

The Family History Group is a small friendly group. Some members are beginning or in the early stages of researching their family, and some have been delving into their family's past for several years. We share our experiences and joys of discovery and help each other when difficulties or stumbling blocks arise.

Wills and Brick Walls
At our meetings in May and June, we discussed Wills and Probate. In July, there was a very informative meeting where members gave details of 'Brick Walls' and received helpful tips about how to solve them.

New Members
In the past two months, we have welcomed 3 new members to our group. There was much discussion about how to get started with research with all members contributing good ideas.

January Meeting
This month we moved to our new venue at The Reubens, Leeming Bar. Six members attended and there was a lively discussion. The topic of Graveyards was decided for next month.

February Meeting
The subject for this meeting was 'An interesting member of the family from any century'. All seven of our group who attended gave excellent short talks and two visitors contributed as well. It was felt that, with more time available, we could expand on those talks at a future meeting, also giving those who…
