  • Different Learning Strategies Seem to be Working

    The conversation within the group has started to flow naturally and we have covered assorted topics without effort. Having picked a letter of the alphabet, each member prepared a passage using as many words with that letter and then we read them out at the meetings. We have also brought quiz questions to start discussions.…

  • Group Progress is Good!

    The group is now full with 15 members and we have progressed well this year. For a few weeks, we have been starting our sessions by asking prepared questions of the group. This usually leads to further conversations on varying and interesting topics.

  • Christmas Meal

    All but 2 group members stayed on at The Reubens for lunch after today's meeting.

  • Zebra Gateau with Pears

    We had such a good time this morning! This week, one of our members had gone to the trouble of following a recipe from a magazine, which was brought back from France by the group leader.   • Clothing

    We had a very enjoyable session discussing clothing of various types and at different stages of our lives, (Flares, cheesecloth and Afghan coats were mentioned.) All participants agreed that it is lovely to be part of a considerate and friendly group.

  • The Group is a Success

    Our 12th meeting on 2nd Oct was attended by 10 members and we discussed 'Books, Magazines & Other Reading Materials' as well as hearing about one member's first Saga holiday. Our group has been a great success and we have had to close it to new members for the time being.

  • Holidays - Les Vacances

    Today we met for the 7th time and we are gaining in confidence with our French speaking. We had a lively and fun discussion about holidays which led on to other topics including World War One. Some of the conversation is in English or Franglais!
